Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching leaves a nice clean bed of mulch behind once the job is complete.  There are no muddy messes to worry about and your remaining large trees will benefit from all the nutrients released from the decomposing organic matter.  We take extra care in not damaging the trees that are left behind as well as leaving the mulched area looking top notch as opposed to large unsightly pieces of wood left behind .

Tree Healthcare

Properly maintaining your trees now will save you on costly removals later!  Trees are an investment to your property just like your house.  We will make sure the soil and nutrient content can satisfy the demands of the trees so that it can thrive for many years to come. We often remove dead trees that could have been maintained their entire life at a fraction of the cost of removal.  Sometimes the remedy for a declining tree can be as simple as mulching under the canopy and other times we may recommend breaking up compacted soil under the tree with an air spade and adding nutrients back into the area.

Tree Pruning and Removal

We are capable of removing any tree, anywhere, whether it's dead or diseased or for any other reason.  We will evaluate your concerns and provide you with our professional opinion on the trees you may have chosen but in the end we are here to serve you so the final decision is yours.  We also provide several types of pruning services to suit both your needs and the tree's health needs.

Cabling

Many multi trunk trees fail by splitting apart. Cabling can prevent this if done in advance.  A correctly installed cabling system can provide support to multi trunk trees as well as limbs.  We will assess the tree and provide an adequate system whether it's a single cable or a complex system with multiple cables and threaded rods.  We are experienced in all aspects of cabling including not only younger trees but large historical trees exceeding 100 years old!

Tips for Proper Watering During Times of Drought:

Many of us haven’t had rain in weeks and the soil is drying out at depths even below 3 feet. We tend to water our small landscape shrubs and sod, but neglect to consider the stress our large mature trees are undergoing. They may not show signs of drought as fast as the smaller landscaping since they have such a large root mass. We fail to consider the consequences of losing our 100 year old trees that may be shading our house or yard. Now is the time to start watering! It’s best to use a soaker hose around the trunk and as far out as the drip line. Avoid getting the trunk wet with sprinklers. You can make several “rings” under the canopy using several soaker hoses. In an ideal situation, Mulch 2-4” deep on top of soaker hose and under canopy as far out to the drip line as you can but as you all know mulch isn’t cheap and neither is water (for those of you on city water ) so just do what works for you. Mulch helps retain water and a little mulch and some water is better than none at all.
